cts philosophy
happy & healthy
At Cedar Tree Stables (CTS) we believe that happy horses are healthy horses. This foundation means we work hard to find appropriate (group or individual) turnout compositions in which horses can feel safe, secure, and fulfill their needs for social interaction. Horses are turned out daily, regardless of weather (they may come in early for extreme situations).
Forage is a key component at CTS: horses are fed hay between 2-4 times daily, and on grass when seasons (and metabolisms) allow. Horses are fed all of the hay they will clean up. We use a variety of slow feed hay nets/bags to ensure constant access to hay tailored to each horses’ preferred way of eating.
Each of the CTS farms has unique amenities for both horse and rider.
